The imposing Falkenstein cliffs in Bad Herrenalb are a particularly exciting climbing garden for all climbing enthusiasts and offer pure thrills and adrenalin.
A rock with a railway connection. It takes less than five minutes to walk from the Kullenmühle stop to the lower group. The upper group is further away. But it offers a beautiful view of the city and its surroundings,
The Lower Group offers 21 routes. Almost all of them are well secured. Wedges or friends can be helpful in some places. This applies even more to the Upper Group. In its 25 routes, the protection is sparser in some places. You should check holds and footholds for stability throughout the area.
The Upper Group is a natural monument. Both rock groups are part of a Natura 2000 site. In the Upper Group, climbing on the Falkenturm and Rambowandl is only permitted from 1 July to 31 December each year. Climbing to the summit is not permitted. A change to the climbing regulations is currently being sought. Please note the current information.
Cliffs offer sporting challenges and intense experiences of nature. However, outdoor sports enthusiasts also have a special responsibility to treat nature with care. All climbers are asked to behave considerately in nature and on the rock biotopes and to comply with the climbing regulations:
- Observe the current climbing regulations
- Arrive in an environmentally friendly manner
- Only use authorised car parks
- Do not go astray
- Respect the no-go zones
- Protect the rock faces
- Breeding periods are closed periods
- Magnesia bans and rubbish
- Offer benefits, reap benefits
- Coordinate renovations and developments
Please note that climbing on the crags is not possible during the breeding season.
