When the doors of the Merkurbergbahn close and the carriage starts to move almost silently, the noise, stress and hectic pace of everyday life are left behind in the valley.
You also have the option of reaching the summit on foot along well-signposted and safe hiking trails. A fascinating panoramic view over Baden-Baden, the highest mountains in the northern Black Forest and the Murg Valley as far as the Upper Rhine Plain and the Vosges mountains awaits you there.

Attractive leisure activities await you around the Merkur: Marked walking and hiking trails, vantage points, the game reserve, the Kneipp facility and the 2nd stage of the Panorama Trail, which starts from the Merkur valley station.
If you don't want to cover the distance of approx. 2 km between the town and the Merkur valley station on foot, hop on the comfortable buses on lines 204 and 205 or take the white CityBahn for another panoramic journey.
Our tip: buy a combined bus and Merkurbergbahn ticket from the bus driver and save money!
