Section 1 - From the Source to Altensteig
We start our joint route in Besenfeld-Urnagold at the source of the Nagold. It goes uphill along the gravel path to the B294. From the information board, we always follow the signs and the intermediate signposts of the Nagold Valley cycle path. We cross the B294 and keep left at the upcoming fork. The gravel path continues slightly uphill to the Gewerbestraße Besenfeld. On the Gewerbestraße, we turn right onto the B294. After 400 m, we turn left onto Urnagolder Straße. It goes slightly downhill to km 2.2. Here we turn left downhill at the fountain and continue to follow the cycle path. Keep left at the fork. Along Mühlenweg, it goes past the youth hostel. At km 2.85, turn left downhill at the fork and continue. Along the Kuhlbach it continues. This flows into the Nagold at km 3.9, which we continue to follow to Schorrental. The gravel path changes into Schorrental Straße. Past the Forelle inn, we merge onto Nagoldtalstraße. We follow this through the sawmill to km 5.2. Here we turn left towards Göttelfingen. Behind the sawmill, it continues uphill to km 5.8. We leave the street and continue on the forest path towards Erzgrube. The forest path joins Erzgruber Straße after 3.2 km, onto which we turn right. Follow the road to the roundabout. Leave the roundabout at the second exit. After 200m turn left into Seestraße and follow the cycle path along Erzgrube. Please observe the safety instructions posted here and other visitors of the Nagold Reservoir. Passing the intermediate dam of the two lakes, it continues to the dam wall. After a short break at the information boards, it goes downhill. Be cautious of the closed barriers at the waterworks below. The L362 is crossed slightly to the right, and it continues on the asphalted cycle path to Pfaffenstube. Turn right at the L362 and follow the road to Altensteig. At km 23, at the sports field, turn left and then keep right. Jahnstraße leads into Karlstraße, which we follow downhill. Before the bridge, turn left into Rosenstraße. It continues through the beautiful old town of Altensteig on Bahnhofstraße to the roundabout at the town exit.
Section 2 - From Altensteig to Nagold
Keep left on the cycle path and keep left at km 26.5. It continues through the right curve on L348 towards Wart. The cycle path branches right at km 27.2. Passing the Monhardter Wasserstube, we follow the cycle path straight ahead to Ebhausen. Please observe the junctions in Ebhausen where the cycle path crosses. Some sections are poorly visible. We pass through Ebhausen on the Nagold Valley cycle path. At km 32.9, we cross the road and keep right towards Nagold. We enter Rohrdorf. At km 33.8 there is a dangerous junction! Continue straight on. At km 37.1 the Nagold Valley cycle path leads to the parking lot at the entrance to Nagold. We continue left on the parking lot in the direction of Kleeb. Pass the outdoor pool and immediately turn right behind it and then the next left. Here you have the option to make a detour to the old town of Nagold. Otherwise, cross the bridge to the right at the statue and then keep left. It continues on the street "Unterm Wehr". At km 38.4 the path makes a right-left kink and continues into Neuwiesenweg. After about 200 m, turn left, pass the sports field, then turn left again. We cross the bridge and keep right. At the building yard area and motorhome parking lot, we leave Nagold and enjoy the route along the blooming meadows.
Section 3 - From Nagold to Calw
At km 41.4, go right and through an underpass. Please observe the lanes! After another 1.5 km turn right and cross the Nagold over the wooden bridge. Here it goes uphill on the left. Please also observe the lanes here! The cycle path leads onto Mühlhalden Straße. After 200 m downhill, keep right. It continues along the Nagold through the idyllic valley to km 48.6. Here we enter Wildberg. At the monastery and motorhome parking lot, turn right and continue on Klosterstraße. We continue on the right side of the Nagold to km 49.7 and cross it again over a wooden bridge. After the bridge, keep right. Turn left at the road at the front and then right onto B463 (Talstraße). After 150 m, turn left into Talstraße (L349). At the train station, turn right and cross the tracks on the street "Saronweg." After the tracks, keep right. Follow the route straight ahead. At km 51.3, after the underpass, keep left and follow Kengelweg. Follow the cycle path for 2.5 km and then keep right at the fork. In Seitzental keep right and follow the street to the left at the following gastronomic mill into Kohlertal. Turn right at km 56.4 and after another 100 m keep left. Below the Waldeneck ruin, continue towards Teinach. Pass the power station and turn right at the street. At the junction to L347, you have the option to make a detour to Teinach. This adds about 7 km and 50 meters of altitude. Otherwise, turn right and pass the roundabout straight towards Calw. The cycle path continues along B463 to Kentheim. Then continue on the cycle path towards Calw. At km 62.5, turn left into Tanneneck Straße. Follow the road straight into the city center of Calw. At Herman Hesse Platz, keep slightly left and after 100 m, turn right. Then immediately turn left into the pedestrian zone (!!! walking pace applies here!!!). After crossing the pedestrian zone, cross the following large intersection and pass the Calw fire station. Continue on Hirsauer Wiesenweg. Here we leave the Hermann Hesse city of Calw and continue to Hirsau.
Section 4 - From Calw to Bad Liebenzell
The street changes into Uhlandstraße. At km 67.7, you have the option to continue straight to Hirsau Monastery. Otherwise, turn right here. We go under B296 and continue along a park to the parking lot. Here is a traffic light to cross Liebenzeller Straße (B463). After crossing, follow Ernstmühler-Weg and keep left at the upcoming fork. In Ernstmühl at km 69.9, turn right and after the railway crossing, turn left. We follow the cycle path for another 2.3 km to the entrance of Bad Liebenzell. On Reuchlinweg it goes downhill behind the thermal spa to L343. Here turn left and cross the tracks again. Immediately after, turn right into Regularstraße (L343a). At km 73.8, we leave Regularstraße on the right. On Ulmenweg, it goes out of Bad Liebenzell and continues towards Pforzheim.
Section 5 - From Bad Liebenzell to Pforzheim
We follow the cycle path to Monbachtal. After another break in Monbachtal, continue left to Unterreichenbach. At km 79.4, keep right. We follow the cycle path for 1 km along the Nagold and past a beautiful natural stone landscape. At the Bannwald info boards, continue straight. After the wastewater treatment plant, keep right and after a short climb, turn left. At km 81.6, turn left and go under B463. Please observe the lanes here as well! We continue on the cycle path to Dillweißenstein. The route leads to a bus stop with a turning area onto the street. Here keep left and after the turning area, turn right into Belremstraße. At km 88.2, turn left before the bridge and continue downhill. Caution - this section is somewhat narrow in places! At km 89.6, the path leads into Friedenstraße. Leave it again after 200m on the right. Along the Nagold, continue on the Nagold Valley cycle path to km 91.9. Here we cross Bleichstraße. Continue on Kallhardtstraße to km 92.4. Turn right and after the bridge, keep right again. Cross the park on the left and cross Jahnstraße at the underpass. At km 93 at the church, keep right. Cross the bridge over the Enz. Here the Nagold flows into the Enz on the right! After crossing the bridge, keep left. At Leopoldstraße, turn right and follow the route uphill straight ahead towards the station. We enter Bahnhofstraße straight ahead and end our route at the entrance of Pforzheim main station.
