Jockele-Guck is a beautiful vantage point on the Bienenbuckel. This point was of great importance to the people of the Achertal in the warlike times of the 17th and 18th centuries, as a sentry posted here would alert the nearest sentry at the bottom of the valley, who in turn would then notify Rodeck Castle by lighting a wreath of pitch. Legend has it that during the Thirty Years' War, a guard caught sleeping was reminded of his duty by the cry "Jockele, look!".
