A highlight of the tour is the old St. Anthony's Chapel in Kappel, which is dedicated to St. Anthony.
Wegbeschreibung
The tour starts at the old town hall in Kappel. Right at the beginning of the tour, you will pass a small chapel dedicated to St. Anthony. If you have lost something, you should send a prayer to St. Anthony there and you are sure to be helped. The tour leads down to the gorge via the mill path and then briefly uphill again via a historic cart track. You continue along a disused railroad line and later descend again into the wild and romantic gorge. Narrow paths take you to the impressive Höllochfelsen rock. The trail runs parallel to the Haslach until it flows into the Wutach. You follow the Wutach for a while and then climb up out of the gorge over the stone fields. Now the view opens up over the expanse of the Gutach valley and the course of the historic railroad line with its imposing viaducts. The tour takes you back to Kappel via meadow and forest paths.
Ausrüstung
We recommend sturdy shoes.
Sicherheitshinweise
The gorge is divided into various rescue sectors, all of which are signposted. In emergencies, they enable the mountain rescue service to find your location better and faster. Therefore, please always pay attention to which sector you are in.
As you do not always have cell phone reception in the gorges, you may have to walk out of the gorge or a little further into the gorge in order to contact the mountain rescue service from there.
Please follow the recommended walking direction!
The viaduct and gorge tour is not suitable for baby carriages, but can be done with children if they are sure-footed.
The trail is suitable for dogs. As this is a nature reserve, we ask you to keep your dog on a lead and watch out for other hikers.
Please pay attention to the signs on the hiking trail. You can find precise and detailed information about the signs and the hiking guidance system on our website. In emergencies, call 112.
