\nLong tours along well-marked hiking trails will reveal magnificent views of the surrounding region, the Jura and the Swiss Alps.
\nThe Murgtal Valley Path (total length: 24 kilometres) features wild, romantic gorges with waterfalls and rock tunnels. While you're out and about, the ruins of Wieladingen Castle, towering high above the Murgtal valley on a steep crag, are worth visiting. The castle keep, at c. 30 meters high, is imposing and will reward you with views down to the bottom of the gorge and up to the Swiss Alps.
Another high point along the way is the romantic Strahlbrusch waterfall. From a ledge (and secured by a railing!) you have a clear view of the 13-metre-high wild, thundering waterfall.<\/p>
The Maisenhardt forest adventure trail at Egg consists of 18 stations and is c. 3.5 kilometres long. The trail mostly leads you through natural surroundings along unsurfaced paths and is also suitable for prams. Here there are interesting things to try out and experience, such as the bog field station, a mirror maze, the forest memory, a power station and much more. The large adventure playground with barbecue area offers children a lot of space for playing and letting off steam.<\/p>
The 18-hole golf course and driving range benefits from an exceptional location on the Hotzenwald plateau, offering fascinating spectacles of the flora and fauna and a magnificent view of the Swiss Alps. The facility's large driving range has both open and covered tees. For newbies the golf club offers taster courses.<\/p>
\nA scenically located glider airfield with restaurant and a launching spot for paragliders provide a panoramic view of the Hotzenwald forest landscape from a bird's eye perspective.
