The Black Forest Rose assortment garden was created beside the parsonage in Nöggenschwiel, on a total area of 1530 square meters with about 2.000 rose plants in 187 varieties.
With this system, a scientific purpose is pursued: Frost hardness testing of rose varieties for use in geographical altitudes.
The range includes precious roses, as Floribunda roses, climbing roses, small shrub roses, ground cover roses, rose with high stems and cascading roses.
The idea and planning, as well as expert advice for the construction and plant work was carried out by Joseph Raff, former Garden Director Isle of Mainau, Konstanz.
Such a range of garden is unique in Germany.
