From the valley station behind Günterstal (accessible by bus and tram from FR-Mitte), you can reach the summit and summit tower in 20 minutes. The view from the Schauinsland cable car takes in the Rhine plain, the vineyards of Tuniberg and Kaiserstuhl and the Vosges mountains. From the summit, the view extends to the Feldberg, the marvellous Black Forest Highlands and far beyond to the Alps.
The Schauinsland is an ideal recreational area for hiking, biking, Nordic walking, paragliding and winter sports. Other highlights include Europe's longest scooter track, the Schauinsland museum mine and the Schniederlihof farmhouse museum. Cosy inns invite you to take a break. Float away!
Information on accessibility: The Schauinsland cable car is wheelchair accessible. The stepless summit circular route is tarred, but there are considerable inclines in many places.
