Only the foundations of the Schwarzenburg can still be seen today.

The castle is located on the Schwarzenberg, a foothill of the Kandel. You can reach it by hiking the first stage of the Zweitälersteig from Waldkirch to the Kandel. At the Schwarzenberg hut, there is a short detour to the ruins.

The castle was built around 1120 and was inhabited until the middle of the 16th century.
