In winter, there are three lifts with varying degrees of difficulty for everyone - a great experience with floodlights, music and mulled wine!
For over 700 years, the monks developed St. Peter into a cultural and political center that radiated throughout the Black Forest. For more than 160 years, the former abbey served as a seminary, and since 2006 it has been the spiritual center of the Archdiocese of Freiburg. With its rococo library and magnificent baroque church, the former Benedictine monastery is one of the most magnificent examples of baroque architecture in southern Germany. The former abbey is still the center of the hospitable village. It welcomes St. Peter's guests from afar, and in its shadow, in the monastery courtyard, concerts, festivals and markets take place throughout the year.
