The premium trail and Black Forest connoisseur path lead to striking viewpoints overlooking Wolfach castle and the Kinzig and Wolf valleys.
Short, steep climbs, fantastic views of Wolfach and the Wolf valley, and the old pilgrimage chapel of Saint Jakobus are the highlights of this route.
Since there are no refreshment possibilities on the trail, it is recommended to pack a sufficient backpack snack and drinks!
The historic old town of Wolfach invites you at the end of the hike to stroll, visit cafes, and enjoy.
(The hiking trail is not suitable for strollers/buggies.)

Arrival is also possible by public transport. Free parking is available at the P+R at Wolfach train station.
Directions
The circular hike starts at the train station and leads over the railway crossing near the Raiffeisenmarkt to the first viewpoint Käpflefelsen with its Golden Sphere. Past the Gesundheitsbrünnele, you reach after an easy section the most challenging ascent of the route: a newly created footpath leads steeply up to the Upper Siechenwaldweg. Over the Firmlingsweg, you reach the highest point of the route, the Berghexenlandeplatz with its viewing platform.
The path then leads past the ventilation tower of the Reutherberg tunnel to the pavilion and then along a wonderful footpath, partly carved into the rocks, further to the St. Jakobus chapel, an ancient pilgrimage chapel in quiet forest solitude. Here, too, a fountain provides cool spring water. Through the Jakobswald, the path leads to the Franzosenfelsen and further past the old water reservoir towards the town hall/downtown.
Equipment
Sturdy footwear, trekking poles, rain protection, drinks, and possibly a small snack for the way are recommended.
Safety information
You should be sure-footed on rocky ground and free from vertigo.
