At the end of the third stage, a refreshing dip in the cool water awaits at the Kirnbergsee lake. Before that, the WasserWeltenSteig crosses the light-flooded forests on the plateau around Mistelbrunn. The ruins of Neufürstenberg Castle tower high above the roofs of the Vöhrenbach suburb of Hammereisenbach on a rocky spur above the mouth of the Urach into the Bregtal valley. Presumably built around 1360 by the Counts of Fürstenberg, only the foundations of the core castle and the mighty shield wall remain of the small castle complex. It was burnt down by the "Klettgau mob" during the Peasants' War in 1525. The five-minute detour is worthwhile for the view over the village, which got its name from the ore deposits and their processing in the Eisenbach valley.
A hammer mill was operated here until the 16th century, and the castle probably served to protect and control it. The Wasser-WeltenSteig follows the cycle and hiking trail in the Bregtal valley for a while, passing the Fischerhof and Krumpenhof farms. At Fischersäge, you must not miss the turn-off from the wide, open valley into the narrow forest gorge of Wilddobel to climb up to the wooded plateau around Mistelbrunn. Only around the small village with the pilgrims' chapel of St Markus - with frescoes from the first half of the 13th century - do the extensive Fürstenberg forests thin out. The Mistelbrunn Pilgrims' Way, a section of the European Way of St James network, also runs largely parallel to the Premium Trail as far as Mistelbrunn. Once again, the forest swallows up the path, muffling all sounds, and only releases the hiker again in the resort of Unterbränd, which is loosely scattered around the small St Anne's Chapel.
