The Rohrhardsberg takes centre stage on the third day, inconspicuous and wild at the same time. High above the Elz valley, at Hörnleberg, the first highlight of the day, the ridge hike to the highest point of the stage begins. The route then descends over the ridge, which pushes northwards like a wedge into the course of the Elz. At its extreme end at the Kapfhütte hut, the view is breathtaking.
